In an attempt to ensure the safety of the vulnerable group of children, the Uttar Pradesh government has extended the closure of schools by one more week. Notably, in view of the rising COVID cases, all schools in Lucknow and other districts of the city were directed to discontinue offline classes till January 30. However, with this extension issued by the UP govt the shutdown will now continue till February 6th.

21 to 40-year-olds make up more than 51% of all COVID patients in Indore

New infections are more rampant in young adults.

Though the weekly fatality rate in Indore has been pegged as the highest in the ongoing third wave, most of the fresh cases here are being traced in the 21-40 year age category - similar to that of the second spell.
