Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the first state in India to have tested more than 1 lakh people for Coronavirus in a single day! On Monday, about 1,06,962 tests were conducted in the state. This increased and enhanced testing facility in UP has also lead to a broader scope of identification of virus infected people, and about 3,505 fresh positive cases were detected across the state. No.1 Testing in India
Uttar Pradesh has a much higher testing capacity in comparison to any state of India and about 1,06,962 tests were conducted in a single day in the state including RT-PCR tests, TrueNAT tests and antigen tests. These different methods of testing are differentiated on the basis of their processes and promptness to provide results. Where RT-PCR takes about 4 to 8 hours, TrueNAT provides an enhanced and portable way to collect samples. Antigen tests, on the other hand, have the capacity to detect the presence of virus in specimen in just 20 to 30 minutes.

The Principal Health Secretary added how the increased testing has resulted in the identification of virus in a larger population. UP tested 3,505 people as positive in the state taking the total caseload to 70,493. The total active cases in the state calculate to 26,204. Around 42,833 people have been declared cured of the virus since its outbreak in the state.
Testing Number Criteria
The Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh has set up a distinguished criteria of the number of tests in a district on the basis of its population. In order to maintain the testing capacity of over a lakh in the state, the CM has directed officials to conduct 1500 tests for those areas that have a population of more than 25 lakh, and around 1000 tests have been fixed for those less than 25 lakh. The Additional Chief Secretary of home also added that the number of RT-PCR tests have been asked to increase to around 3,500 each day.
