After witnessing a slight drop in daily cases on Thursday with 354, Kanpur witnesses a massive surge in the daily tally at 616 fresh cases on Sunday.

Kanpur's covid graph has again shown a sudden spike in the daily tally of cases on Saturday with 887 fresh cases and 616 cases on Sunday. This comes after showing a considerable dip in cases on Thursday, with 354 cases. The active case count of the city now stands at 3671, while the discharges in the industrial city are at 428, with 1 death reported in the last 24 hours.

Government schools in Indore welcome dropouts for skill training

Dropouts in the state can now enrol for skill training programmes at Govt. schools under new RMSA project.

Six government higher secondary schools in the Indore district have been selected to welcome dropouts who have studied up to class 8th. The motive of the project is to upskill youth to make them employable and open better career opportunities. Narendra Jain, Assistant District Project Coordinator of Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyaan (RMSA), told TOI that the programme will be run as a pilot project this year. Trainers in these education hubs will be guided by the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC).

JMC in action to clean water lettuce engulfing a portion of Dravyavati river

Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has launched a cleanliness campaign to curtail the fast-spreading weed.

A portion of Dravyavati near Ambabari in Jaipur has suffered an onslaught by pistia stratiotes, also called jalkumbhi or water lettuce. The weed is engulfing the portion of the river from all directions at great speed. In a bid to clean the river, Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has launched a cleanliness campaign to curtail the fast-spreading weed. Sewerage discharge and stinking water can be considered as the major cause for overspread of the weed. Around five years ago, Anansagar Lake was also attacked by this jalkumbhi. The administration worked very hard to remove the weeds but they have returned this season too. However, it wouldn’t have such grave consequences, due to the consistent flow of water in the river.
