In the steepest single day rise of Coronavirus cases in Lucknow, a total of 196 cases were reported in the city by Tuesday evening. The number takes the tally of the capital to about 1,684 cases.
Explosion of cases
The state of Uttar Pradesh and the capital city both have reported highest 1 day rise in Covid-19 cases. As the state inches to a total tally of 30,000, around 19500+ patients have recovered. The increase in number of cases of coronavirus in the city has led to the identification of 68 more containment zones, however this exponential rise in the number of case has two major contributors. Health officials have identified about 33 positively tested Jawans under training at Army Medical Corps Centre at Central Command. These soldiers were fresh recruits and were under training at the Central Command. An equal number of cases were found among the officials of 102 call centre which runs the ambulance service in the state.
The Chief Minister has has issued a fresh appeal to the people, asking them to curtail their movement unless absolutely necessary. He has also asked officials to start checking and ensure that people do not move around aimlessly. He has also asked the people to compulsorily wear a mask and raised the fine for not wearing one to Rs. 500 from Rs. 100. Over 33,000 Covid Help Desks have been set up in Uttar Pradesh.

As the situation continues to deteriorate in the city and state, the people must arm themselves with all precautions that are prescribed to prevent the transmission of the deadly Coronavirus. As the local governing bodies add more containment zones to the list, it is the duty of the citizens to adhere to the guidelines issued by them to defeat this global pandemic.
