A 15-km-long bypass road, on Kanpur Road from Sarojini Nagar to Buddeshwar Road, is in the plans. The bypass road will allow traffic flow without interference from the local traffic, thus, reduce congestion at Awadh crossing and boost road safety in general. It will also provide an alternative route for heavy vehicles like trucks in the area.
A two-lane road (paved of 4 cm bituminous concrete) has also been proposed to be constructed on both sides of the Rajbaha canal to proffer an alternative route from Kanpur Road to Buddheshwar Road. With this, vehicles coming from Kanpur Road will be able to reach Buddheshwar Road directly via UPSIDC industrial area in Sarojini Nagar.

Similarly, vehicles arriving from Buddheshwar Road will be able to come directly towards Kanpur Road from Bholakheda Chowki. The bypass road will start from Amausi Rajbaha which crosses Kanpur road and Sunhera to Bhola Kheda Police Chowki to Rajajipuram’s Buddheshwar Road. Basically, the vehicles taking these routes will be able to avoid the constantly bustling Awadh chauraha entirely.
A traffic survey has been conducted on the route and an action plan has been prepared for the same. As per the plan, Uttar Pardesh Rajya Setu Nigam, Public Works Department, Irrigation Department, UPSIDC, and UPPC will work on the project. An NOC (no objection certificate) from the Forest Department and Irrigation Department is awaited and construction will begin as soon as the same is received.
