NHAI has started the repair work along the Amar Shaheed Path, the 23-km-long road that links one part of Lucknow to another. As per reports, this a phase-wise mission where repairs will be first done between Kanpur Road to Sultanpur Road. Addtionally, a new entry point has been added to the flyover and the installation of new signboards is also in the pipeline.
Efforts to make Shaheed Path Marg accident-free

Fixing railings to prevent entry of animals on the main road

Shutting about 20 illegal cuts and turns on the roads

Patching up broken roads and potholes formed due to intense use
Notably the Amar Shaheed Path is one of the busiest roads in Lucknow, which channels heavy vehicles coming from Kanpur, Sitapur, Ayodhya along with the city traffic too. As such, a budget of ₹20 crores has been sanctioned for the same and the work is expected to complete in 2 month, with continuous labour day and night.
New installations & expansion work
The NHAI has built a new entry lane to the Shaheed Path near the Ansal Underpass, in a bid to bolster the flyover connectivity. This new ramp will enable vehicles coming from Lulu Mall and Avadh Shilpgram to directly get on the Shaheed Path, from Utrethia Underpass Chauraha and Medanta Hospital. To further ease navigation, around 14 new signboards will be installed on the Shaheed Path, at numerous exit points.
To ensure that traffic movement is not disrupted during the construction or repair phase, the NHAI has developed a graded action plan. The work will be rolled out on one lane first and only after it’s completed, the second lane work will be launched.
