UPMRC resumed its services on September 7 after the seven-month coronavirus induced lockdown and besides providing safe travel to the people amid the raging pandemic, the Lucknow Metro has proven itself to be not only rapid but also reliable.
A safe & well-equipped Lucknow Metro
Be it the safety of your commute or your safety in commute, Lucknow Metro has got all bases covered with its excellent operational ethics. With regular passenger safety checks, the city’s Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) ensures that it provides convenient travel for all. In a recent inspection, the services were under the scrutiny of Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety who lauded the LMRC for implementing superior safety performance.
Also in charge of the safety of metro services in North India, including DMRC, NCRTC, Noida Metro, UP Metro, MP Metro and Bihar Metro, the commissioner inspected city metro stations for different safety arrangements and facilities for passengers. As per statements, he also reviewed the Lucknow Metro Workshop, Metro Training Centre, Operation Control Centre and safety performance of Lucknow Metro.
The inspection drive further extended to the management of rail tracks, which was fulfilled when the authority travelled in the metro driving cab from Transport Nagar Metro station and Hazratganj station. Here, detailed attention was paid to the track safety, track structure, electrical systems etc. Safety awareness among train operators and station masters was also checked.

A testament to Lucknow Metro’s excellence is its dynamically escalating ridership, where latest reports confirm that over 35,000 people choose to travel via this rapid transport, every day. However, the bond between the metro and Lucknowites is a doubly knotted one, while the people trust the services for a safe and easy commute, the services ensure passengers’ safety and that of their belongings during the transit.
In just four months of its operations post the nationwide coronavirus lockdown, the LMRC has returned about ₹7 lakh, about 39 mobile phones, 8 laptops and other valuables to their rightful owners, making a statement of its honesty and sincerity. The metro officials have worked with responsibility, standing true to all the expectations of its commuters, facilitating the timely and hassle-free return of personal belongings to people.
There have been several cases in the past year where people were able to retrieve their belongings from the ‘Lost and Found Department’ of the metro facility. These include purses, bags, laptops and even a DD worth Rs 5,32,286, hence making Lucknow Metro a trustworthy companion for Lucknowites.
