In a bid to curtail the spread of contagion, all buses of Uttar Pradesh Roadways with be equipped with a sound system to spread awareness about the pandemic. Besides highlighting the need for masks and social distancing, the recorded message would also talk about other important guidelines. This initiative is a part of the framework, being prepared by the roadways to ensure the safety and security of all its commuters.
10,000 buses to be equipped with the new facility
As per reports, an official from the Transport Department apprised that the new installment has been planned for nearly 10,000 buses. While the regional officers will be responsible to ensure the implementation of this project, it has been stated that a cost of around ₹1,500 will be borne for each bus. Targetting assured benefits for the passengers at the earliest, the department is deploying extensive efforts to make sure that the plans are executed within June itself.
Sound systems to also give safety alerts for the drivers
Reportedly, the sound system will also alert the bus drivers about road accidents. Reports state that recorded messages with detailed instructions will be played to avoid any unforeseen circumstances during travel. They would also include directives for driving the bus under different situations.
With the widespread application of the new measures, the authorities envision providing a safe travel experience for all the commuters. Given the changed scenario of the present times due to the ongoing pandemic, such interventions have become the need of the hour.
