New provisions rolled out at Lucknow Int'l Airport amid Omicron scare

While Uttar Pradesh has been marked safe from Omicron as of now, India's tally stands at over 23 cases.

Amidst the rising concerns of the Omicron strain of COVID in India, the government of Uttar Pradesh is gearing up to take preventive precautionary measures to check the pandemic situation across the state. As per reports, the administration has equipped Lucknow's Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport to comply with the latest COVID-19 guidelines issued by the Health Ministry for the same. To ensure safety from this Variant of Concern (VOC), the state government is focusing on amping testing, vaccination, surveillance and sanitisation in all UP districts.

Construction of a much needed 'puliya' begins near​ Awadh intersection in Lucknow

The construction project of the upcoming road is estimated to cost around ₹3.75 crores by the Public Work Department.

In a bid to ease traffic congestion near the Awadh intersection in Lucknow, the Public Work Department has decided to construct a puliya at Nahariya on Kanpur Road. Notably, the construction work has also been initiated post the approval of government for this road construction plan. According to an official of the PWD, this project is estimated to cost ₹3.75 crore approximately.

Goa aims full vaccination for all eligible citizens by December 19

The state had vaccinated all eligible beneficiaries with first dose in September.

All Goa citizens who haven't yet received their second dose of the Covid-19 vaccine are encouraged to do so as soon as possible. The Goa Government is aiming to achieve complete vaccination by December19, the state's Liberation Day. At the time of filing this report, 1.20 lakh people, out of the eligible population of 11.50 lakh, are yet to receive their second dose.

Missing Leopard cub rescued in Indore after disappearing on Dec 2

The animal had gone missing from the Kamla Nehru Zoo on December 2

On Tuesday, a team from the Kamla Nehru Zoo in Indore finally tracked down and captured the leopard cub that had gone missing from the zoo premises six days ago. The six-month-old animal had been found wandering in the Nepanagar forest, with injury on its hind legs and separated from its mother. It had been brought to the zoo in a caged vehicle on December 1, from which it escaped the very next day.

Reportedly, the move has been implemented to strictly enforce COVID-19 guidelines across Lucknow and avert any pandemic crisis due to callousness.

Maharashtra govt slashes rates for COVID test across Mumbai & other state districts

COVID tests rates reduced to ₹500 for lab walk-ins and ₹700 for home testing.

The Maharashtra government slashed the rates for RT-PCR, rapid antigen, and antibody tests for the sixth time on Monday. According to the new rate card, getting an RT-PCR COVID test in any hospital or a laboratory in Maharashtra will cost ₹500, while home sampling will incur ₹700 now. The price for bulk testing by government agencies has also been reduced to ₹350, from ₹500.

The price of a rapid antigen test has been marked at ₹100 if a person goes to a hospital or lab for testing, and ₹250 for home collection. A rapid antigen test would cost ₹150 if it would be carried out in a kiosk or a place of mass collection.

On Monday, the NCC Group headquarters at Lucknow organised a felicitation ceremony for the war widows of the 1971 battle.

Notching up the celebrations of the ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’, the National Cadet Corps (NCC) is conducting ‘Azadi ki Vijay Shrankhla aur Sanskritiyon ka Mahasangam’ to honour the brave-hearts of the 1971 Indo-Pak war. On Monday, the NCC group headquarters at Lucknow organised a felicitation ceremony for the war widows of the historic battle at Malviya Hall of Lucknow University. Notably, this mega tribute launched by the NCC on November 28 spans over 75 locations across India and will conclude by December 10.
