With the scorching summer heat upon us this early in the year, Lucknowites were running from pillar to post, looking for some relief from the harsh sun. It seems that our cries have been heard because the weather here in the city has become more bearable with cool breeze and last night’s slight spell of rain.

According to reports released by the met department, several areas of Uttar Pradesh are likely to witness rainfall and gusty winds at high speeds paired with thunderstorms in the next 2 days. Meteorological department in Lucknow stated that moderate thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by dust storm are very likely to occur in the city today.
Another private weather agency- Skymet weather also released reports suggesting a similar outcome. According to them the temperatures are expected to go down by three to four degrees on April 16 and 17 (today and tomorrow) and could potentially come down to the range of 36°C – 40°C.
The weather agency said such conditions are expected to stay over Uttar Pradesh as there seems to be a western disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir and other northern parts of the country. Moreover, moderate to heavy spells are expected over West and Central Uttar Pradesh post April 17, the agency reported.
At any rate, the breezy weather today has our hopes high for the upcoming days and finally, we can take a stroll in the park without the harsh sun beating down our faces. The weather change is a much needed respite and Lucknowites are gearing up to paint the town red today.
