Indore is one of the fastest growing cities in India and it has gained recognition several times for its initiatives based on public interest. Just two days back, Indore became home to a one-of-a-kind ‘women only’ hospital and it is a salient step which deserves applause!

This infirmary is the 12th hospital by the Bangalore based chain, Motherhood Hospital, which specializes in building health-care centers for women and children. This chain also operates a number of other such hospitals across the country and is a part of Asia Healthcare Holdings.

With the growing issues and problems that women face, this organization decided to make it easier for women to open up about their medical issues and to get them treated. With this hospital, they aim to provide women across all walks of life with better medical facilities and advice.

What does it specialize in?

The hospital provides a range of services for women of all age groups. Ranging from women wellness programs, adolescent health, expertise in handling all kinds of pregnancies including high-risk ones to advanced gynecology surgery and procedures- the hospital has great competency in providing care for women.

This hospital also provides high-end neonatal intensive care units for preterm babies or those requiring intense neonatal care. The recruited team of doctors are also highly skilled and they are complete with a dedicated team of obstetricians, gynecologists, neonatologists and pediatricians. What are the facilities available here?

The first women’s hospital in the city is equipped with 70 operational beds with 20 beds for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. The hospital has 4 state-of-the-art operative theatres and medical intensive care units. The hospital will also provide round-the-clock service by a team of full-time doctors that includes specialists from all fields.

Indore Municipal Corporation to upgrade its existing dry waste segregation system soon

With a secondary segregation unit to supplement the existing facility, Indore civic body will soon segregate dry waste into 35 different categories

Taking its cleanliness drive up by a notch, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) is now planning to upgrade its existing waste segregation into 35 different categories. As of now, with the help of the automated Material Recovery Facility (MRF) set up at Devguradia trenching ground, the dry waste is segregated into 12 different categories. Reportedly, this facility was established at a cost of about ₹20 crores.

The state of Maharashtra on Thursday announced its decision of reopening schools for all students from class 1 onwards, starting December 1. From Wednesday, schools will be conducting regular, physical sessions for standards 1 to 7 for the first time in 19 months. With this, all school students in the state, except those in pre-primary and kindergarten grades will be permitted to attend school, under the authority of listed COVID guidelines and SOPs.

Noteworthily, the final decision regarding the reopening of schools in Mumbai will be taken by the BMC Commissioner. This decision will affect about 11 lakh students (from classes 1 to 7 ) in the city.

Passengers from South Africa to be put under quarantine at Mumbai Airport due to Omicron scare

Amid the rising concerns of the new COVID variant Omicron, the Union Health Ministry has directed to increase testing and screening of all international travellers.
