Mumbai’s Sion Bridge set to be demolished; check traffic diversions issued for the next 2 years

The Central Railways has decided to demolish Mumbai’s iconic Sion Bridge, which will be closed for the same on July 31. In view of this, new traffic diversions have been issued for a period of two years, starting from August 1, 2024 to July 31, 2026. Notably, the Sion Railway Overbridge has been deteriorating over time and it has already been closed for heavy vehicles.

To manage the possible congestion due to the demolition of the Sion Bridge, here are the issued traffic diversions:

To ensure a smooth flow of traffic through the diverted roads, these roads will now become No Parking zones in Mumbai:
