Back to school!
As per the announcement by Maharashtra's Education Minister, all schools in urban as well as rural areas of the state will resume offline classes from August 17. Classes 5-8 will return to campus in rural areas, while schools in the city will allow offline classes for students of classes 8-12, the ordered added.
Maharashtra students to soon get back to school!
The state of Maharashtra has already reopened schools for classes 8 to 12 in COVID-19-free gram panchayats across the region. The educational institutes in these selected regions have been operating in line with the safety guidelines prescribed by the Maharashtra State Education Department. Buoyed by this, and the dipping infection rate here, the state has now decided to include all schools within the authority of the order.
Besides Maharashtra, several states like Uttar Pradesh, Karnatakaka and Tamil Nadu have also announced on-campus classes for senior school students, from standard 9 to 12. While UP has slated the reopening from August 16, Karnataka has marked it on August 23 and Tamil Nadu from September 1.
Meanwhile, schools have already opened in Punjab, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh, after a detailed review of the pandemic status here. Schools across the nation were shut down due to the second wave of the coronavirus, which peaked during March-April, this year.
