As of now, there are no active containment zones in Mumbai
A notification released by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation highlighted that Mumbai reported a fresh rise of 179 COVID cases in the last 24 hours, pushing the total tally to the 7,61,955 mark. Reportedly, this number has been accounted to a cluster spread in the city, pushing the BMC to seal around 16 buildings in the affected zones. Noteworthily, there are no active containment zones in Mumbai, marking a significant pandemic arrest here.
Mumbai records a 97% high COVID recovery
During the said period, around 162 recoveries and 4 COVID deaths were also recorded in Mumbai. As per official statistics, Financial Capital's recovery rate stands at a remarkable 97%, with a total discharge tally of 7,40,709. The surge of fresh cases has reduced to 0.03%, added reports, staggering the overall case doubling rate to 2,616 days.
Despite these strong recovery trends, the BMC report stated that it traced a total of 1,595 high-risk patients in Greater Mumbai. Around 531 of these traced contacts have been admitted to grade one COVID Care Centres.
