According to a circular issued by the education department, officials and subject experts will soon be visiting schools to evaluate the learning. Education Officer, Mahesh Palkar informed that guidelines have been issued to provide for worksheets and other offline material, in case a student is unable to afford online classes due to lack of smartphone or data pack on mobiles.
The visits include regular checks on the functioning of schools, as they have been given permission for attendance of 50% teaching and non-teaching staff. Teachers have been asked to do online and offline teaching from schools itself and in order to make sure everything in in order, these checks have been scheduled.
In October, the Maharashtra government had decided to reopen schools only after Diwali, as they expect the number of COVID-19 cases to shoot up during the festive season and reopening schools wouldn't be ideal in the current scenario.
