The active caseload of coronavirus in the city stands at 95,123 cases
As per the daily health bulletin issued by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, 13,702 fresh COVID cases were reported in Mumbai on Thursday. After registering high cases every day, the maximum city witnessed a 16.55% drop in single-day figures as compared to the day before. Notably, on Wednesday, Mumbai marked a whopping 41% spike in daily cases as 16,420 people tested positive for coronavirus on the same day.
Active caseload in Mumbai nearing the 1-lakh mark
Adding the fresh cases reported in the financial capital of India on Thursday, the active caseload of coronavirus in the city stands at 95,123 cases. On Thursday, a total of 20,849 patients infected with COVID in Mumbai recovered and were discharged from hospitals, informed the BMC by a tweet. With this addition marked in the metropolitan city on Thursday, the cumulative tally of recoveries in the city has now climbed to 8,55,811 cases now.
Maharashtra COVID update
Despite the dip in figures in Mumbai, Maharashtra's single day COVID tally breached the 45,000-mark for two days straight. While the state marked 46,723 cases on Wednesday, a total of 46,406 people contracted the virus in Maharashtra on January 13. With the highest number of cases recorded in Mumbai, Pune and Thane, the active caseload rose to 2,51,828 cases in Maharashtra on Thursday.
