Taking a trip down the 'Kalsu' lane
With a height of 5400 ft, Kalsubai Peak provides a bird's-eye view of the neighbouring mountain ranges and will remind you of the scenery you made as a kid in your art classes!
The word 'Kalsubai' means the peak but there is also a very fascinating folklore attached to the name of this eminent summit. It is believed that a housemaid named Kalsu, once ran away from her employer's house and climbed the peak of this. She stayed on top of the summit, never to return. The locals hail Kalsu as the guardian of the region and in her honour, they have also erected a temple at the peak!
Knock Knock
Although the difficulty level of the Kalsubai trek is considered to be medium, it is full of some unreliable curves so you have to be extra careful if you're not that adept at trekking! There are steel railings, chains, and ladders near the difficult spots of the trail for your assistance. The sunset and sunrise from this colossal peak are to die for and will make the footslogging completely worth it! So bring out your trekking shoes, pack your essentials and don't forget to keep your camera as you leave for your journey to the Kalsubai Peak!
