The Vistadome rakes will feature wide windows, glass tops and rotatable-pushback chairs to enhance the traveller experience.
Redefining train travel, the Indian Railway's Central Railway zone has decided to add a Vistadome coach in the Mumbai-Pune Deccan Special Train, which is all set to hit the tracks from June 26. It is for the first time that such luxury coaches will run along the scenic route, offering a scenic cruise to all travellers, between the two cities. As per protocols amid the COVID outbreak, only passengers having reserved tickers will be allowed to board the special service, in compliance with all SOPs and other safety norms.
Embark on a mesmerising journey through the bounties of Western Ghat
With wide windows, glass tops and rotatable-pushback chairs, the Vistadome coach of the Mumbai-Pune Deccan Express will screen the beauty of the Western Ghats on the Mumbai-Goa route. Presently, such luxury rakes operate only in the Mumbai-Madgaon Jan Shatabdi Special train. However, passengers will now be able to enjoy the experience of travelling amidst the Sahyadri rangers, passing a mesmerising route, shining in its monsoon glory.
The train will pass along the Matheran Hills, near Neral and Songir Hills, near Palasdhari, to the scapes of Ulhas River and Valley, near Jamburg. It will map along through the enchanting waterfalls and tunnels near the Khandala, Lonavla areas and the Southeast Ghat section, an official statement highlighted.
