Marking the 351st anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s coronation, the Bharat Gaurav Train was flagged off from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Mumbai, on June 9, 2025. The five-day rail journey, themed around ‘Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj & the Glorious Maratha Circuit’, will take travellers through historic sites linked to the Maratha ruler’s life and legacy.

Day 1: Arrive at Mangaon for Raigad Fort; overnight in Pune

Day 3: Tour Shivneri Fort and Bhimashankar temple; return to Pune

Youth lead the way on sold-out maiden journey
Central Railway officials reported that the inaugural run of Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train is fully booked with 710 passengers on board, 80% of whom are under the age of 40, an indication of rising youth interest in historical tourism. As per the report, all seats across Economy (Sleeper – ₹13,155), Comfort (3AC – ₹19,840), and Superior (2AC – ₹27,365) categories were sold out.
