Providing an enhanced alternative to catch traffic defaulters and COVID protocol violators, IIT Bombay has developed an inventive real-time monitoring platform called Surakshavyuh. Supplementing this, artificial intelligence-based Jigyasa interface will help in quick and efficient face and text search. Reportedly, the director of IIT-B informed that the project got materialised with the associative efforts of the institute's National Central of Excellence in Technology and their industrial partner SrivisifAI Technologies.

Initially, Surakshavyuh was incepted in 2017 and now, it has been improved to detect a range of activities. As per reports, the platform is enabled to spot physical intrusion and idle movements, gauge the course of objects, assess crowd numbers and recognise faces too. Besides civilian uses, it has been reported that the innovation has also been deployed in military surveillances.

While the premier tech school worked on instituting the project, the Pune-based firm-SrivisfAI has introduced the product in the markets. As per reports, varied human activities including entry and exit into premises, loitering and intrusion can be detected through the platform. Thereby, the police department can use the findings for warnings and other interventions.

Latest innovation to reduce data usage

As per report, CCTV cameras usually take a large amount of storage for compiling data sets. This new development is beneficial towards reducing data usage by converting hours of recorded video into short-timed files. As per reports, an algorithm called Viscosity provisions helps in keeping only important events and vignettes.

Further, it has been reported that Surakshavyuh is based on Data-Efficient Machine Learning. Due to this, unnecessary information is removed and needed data is specifically preserved.

The Brihannumbai Municipal Corporation on Friday launched the trial for door-step vaccination to strengthen its immunity drive for the bed-ridden people in Mumbai.
