IRCTC has started online pre-bookings for its cruise services for the month of October, November & December, this year.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) has stepped into the foray of International and Domestic Cruise Business to tap on a new segment of the tourism industry. As per reports, the IRCTC is offering a host of curated cruise packages from Mumbai to various locations along the coastal stretch of South and West India.

A maiden move, these packages are set to attract the domestic market, including potential outbound passengers, and get them to sail away from the harbour. As per reports, pre-booking for October, November and December 2021, has already started on the IRCTC official tourism website.


Begin your voyage from Mumbai

The IRCTC has partnered with Cordelia Cruises to set sailing its first-ever cruise service from Mumbai, starting September 20 this year. This venture has opened up a deck for Indian travellers to explore the coastline of India like never before, with packages starting at ₹19,898. These all inclusive-packages will include meals and accommodation, read reports.

In the first phase, the cruise line has curated tour packages along South and West India, including food as well as accommodation. Travellers can opt to take a cruise to Goa, Diu, Lakshadweep, Kochi from Mumbai, this month onwards. According to the plan, the IRCTC will also cater bookings for cruise services to Sri Lanka from next year in September.

Ahoy travellers! Hop aboard these voyages from the Mumbai shoreline!

Sailing from Mumbai on September 20, the Cruise Weekender package includes a visit to two famous tourist spots down South. This 5 nights and 6 days Cruise Weekender package offered by IRCTC is priced at ₹23,467 per person. On the other hand, the Lakshadweep Package will also run for 5 nights and 6 days, where the tourists will get a chance to visit some of the most serene islands. This package, costing ₹49,745 per person, will start on September 27, 2021.

Meanwhile, the Sundowner to Goa is a 2 nights and 3 days package departing on September 25. Priced at ₹23,467 for an individual, this trip to Goa will also start from Mumbai. Lastly, the Kerala Delight cruise, a 2 nights and 3 days package to God's own country is also on the table. Sailing from September 20 from Mumbai, this package costs ₹19,898 per person.

Indore Municipal Corporation to upgrade its existing dry waste segregation system soon

With a secondary segregation unit to supplement the existing facility, Indore civic body will soon segregate dry waste into 35 different categories

Taking its cleanliness drive up by a notch, the Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC) is now planning to upgrade its existing waste segregation into 35 different categories. As of now, with the help of the automated Material Recovery Facility (MRF) set up at Devguradia trenching ground, the dry waste is segregated into 12 different categories. Reportedly, this facility was established at a cost of about ₹20 crores.

The state of Maharashtra on Thursday announced its decision of reopening schools for all students from class 1 onwards, starting December 1. From Wednesday, schools will be conducting regular, physical sessions for standards 1 to 7 for the first time in 19 months. With this, all school students in the state, except those in pre-primary and kindergarten grades will be permitted to attend school, under the authority of listed COVID guidelines and SOPs.

Noteworthily, the final decision regarding the reopening of schools in Mumbai will be taken by the BMC Commissioner. This decision will affect about 11 lakh students (from classes 1 to 7 ) in the city.
