Knocksense Shorts | Much-awaited expansion of Mumbai-Goa Highway to be completed next month
The widening of the Mumbai-Goa Highway (NH-66) is all set to be completed, prior to Ganesh Chaturthi next month. The announcement was made by PWD Minister Ravindra Chavan in a meeting on Tuesday. Once the expansion reaches completion, the travel time between Mumbai and Goa will be reduced from 10 hours to JUST 6 hours.
The project to widen the said highway was conceived nearly a decade ago and is finally set to culminate before the Ganpati Festival in September. It is noteworthy that NH-66 connects Panvel in Mumbai to Cape Komorin in Kanyakumari. Furthermore, the Mumbai-Goa Highway will pass through Goa, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and other regions in Maharashtra.
