Local train services in Mumbai increased by the Central Railway, from today

The new provisions are distributed over different destinations on both mainline and harbour line routes.

In an effort to minimize overcrowding in locals trains during this pandemic, the Central Railway has set 68 additional special suburban local trains in motion, in Mumbai. At the moment, the aforementioned department operates 355 local trains and this new move is intended towards making the commute easier for the essential services staff. The new provisions are distributed over different destinations on both mainline and harbour line routes.


46 services out of 68, will be on the main line (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus to Kasara, Khopoli and Karjat) and 22 on the harbour line (CSMT to Panvel and Goregaon), the Central Railway (CR). With this addition, the overall number of special services of CR in suburban Mumbai, has gone up to 423.

The break up of the additional 68 services are as follows:

9 services (5 Dn & 4 Up) from/to Kasara
6 services (3 Dn & 3 Up) from/to Kasara-Kalyan
9 services (4 Dn & 5 Up) from/to Karjat
2 services (1 Dn & 1 Up) from/to Thane-Karjat
2 services (1 Dn & 1 Up) from/to Kalyan-Karjat
3 services (2 Dn & 1 Up) from/to Ambernath
5 services (2 Dn & 3 Up) from/to Kalyan
4 services (2 Dn & 2 Up) from/to Thane
6 services (3 Dn & 3 Up) from/to Kurla
14 services (8 Dn & 6 Up) from/to Panvel
8 services (3 Dn & 5 Up) from/to Vashi

Daily commuters are requested to follow the social distancing norms in place and precautions such as masks and gloves need to be maintained at all moments.

Mumbai notes a drop in covid cases; 1209 patients have gone home in the last 24 hours

Private hospitals which earlier had long waiting lists are now witnessing vacant ICU beds.

Mumbai is heading towards recovery on the covid front and at the moment, 804 confirmed cases were reported within 24 hours. In contrast to the reported number of corona victims, 1209 patients have recuperated within a day and gone back home. Within a span of a week, it has been documented that there has been a drop in the number of hospitalized patients who are infected by the virus. Further, in a pleasant turn of events, private hospitals which earlier had long waiting lists are now witnessing vacant ICU beds too, which has provided some relief to the city.

The Tourism Department of Goa has slashed down the beach shack license fee by 50%

The government has further approved the extension of the date of payment of the renewal fees and the new date is marked at December 31, 2020.

With the announcement of the much-awaited Tourism Policy 2020, the Chief Minister of Goa has also stated that the license fee for beach shacks has been reduced by 50%.
