Mumbai local trains on Main & Harbour Line to be affected today due to a mega block

Special local trains to run from Panvel to Kurla via Platform 8, during the Sunday block.

The Central Railways has announced a mega block for local train services on Sunday, to conduct regular maintenance work. The suburban rail services on the Harbour Line of the Mumbai local network will remain closed for almost 5 hours today. Additionally, there will be a ten-hour jumbo block on the up-slow route between Diva and Thane on the mainline, in connection with the 5th and 6th line, read reports. Sunday mega block timings:

The CR has declared the timings of the block in advance to ensure the least inconvenience to regular travellers. People are advised not to plan travel during these hours, due to the unavailability of local trains.

The block on the Local Harbour line, from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) to Chunabhatti and Bandra, down line will be clocked from 11:40 AM to 4:40 PM. On the other hand, all up-line movement, from Chunabhatti and Bandra to CSMT will remain closed between 11:10 AM to 4:10 PM.

The Central Line will operate special traffic and block between Kalva-Mumbra up so line, from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM (10 hours), in connection with the slewing of up slow line Thane-Diva 5th and 6th line. The train movement will be affected accordingly:

  • Up slow/semi-fast services leaving Kalyan from 7:27 AM to 5:40 PM will be diverted on Up fast line between Diva and Mulund stations. Trains further rediverted at Mulund will arrive at their destination 10 minutes behind schedule.
  • All locals leaving CSMT between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM and arriving between 9:00 AM and 7:00 PM will be delayed by 10 minutes
  • Last local before block for Kalva and Mumbra stations will depart from Diva at 7:38 AM. The first local after block for Kalva and Mumbra stations will leave Diva at 06:02 PM

Special services & buses to run on Sunday

Due to this block, a few suburban services will also be cancelled. However, provisions of special services have been made to ensure that public movement is not hampered. In this category, a train will run between Panvel and Kurla via platform no 8, during the block period. Besides, all harbour line passengers will be permitted to travel on the Western and Central line, from 10 AM to 6 PM.

To bridge end-to-end connectivity, the state will also be making arrangements for buses. These vehicles will ensure passenger convenience during the block, in affected areas. The Chief Spokesperson of the Central Railway has informed that routine maintenance is always conducted smoothly. These maintenance blocks, he added, are essential to ensure that the public commute infrastructure is safe for use by all.

As per new orders by Kanpur Municipal Corporation, citizens will now have to inform the authorities before bringing home a pet. Those failing to do so will have to pay a hefty fine of ₹1200, irrespective of breed and size. The Municipal Corporation is also planning to bring pet clinics under the purview of the license.

New flights to ease connectivity from Indore to Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Delhi & Hyderabad from October 31

These flights are part of the winter schedule approved by the DGCA

As per the new winter flight schedule approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, 25 new flight services will be started to ease connectivity from Indore to Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad.
