New potted plants adorn Lucknow for the 2nd phase of UP Investors Summit

The second phase of the UP’s Investors Summit is all set to kick-start today & Lucknow has once again been decorated with new potted plants. Before the Investors Summit could begin, which is expected to bring projects worth ₹65,000 crores to the state, the some major city streets have been beautified with plants everywhere and we have to say, the monsoon and the greenery go pretty well together.

The projects and the Memorandum of Understanding were signed during the first ever investors summit which was held last year in February and brough projects over ₹4.5 lakh crore to the state. The summit will honour Home Minister of the union cabinet Amit Shah as its chief guest and will bring several big names to the city including Mukesh Ambani- chairman Reliance Industries, Kumar Mangalam Birla- chairman Aditya Birla Group, Anand C Mahindra- chairman Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd and ITC CEO Sanjeev Puri, among other major industry names.

The investors summit is expected to bring humongous investment to the state and aims to be followed by a ‘Global Investment Summit’ next year.

The beautification of roads, hence, is quite justified, if not necessary. Yet, we hope that the plants last longer than the summit does and wish that the city always looked this stunning, felt this breathable. Well, we’ll cherish it while it lasts and hope against hope that the pots and the plants become an inseparable part of our roads and our city.
