In an astounding and a rather unique move, Delizens came together to clean up the age old Nizamuddin Railway Station and repaint the walls with colourful murals. This comes as part of an initiative titled “Me for My City”, in partnership with Radio Mirchi and HSBC Bank. The makeover gives Nizamuddin Station a completely new look which is surely stealing our hearts.
For frequent travellers and commuters who had gotten bored of seeing the same bland interior of the station, the wall graffiti and murals will be a sight for sore eyes. This initiative is not just limited to Nizamuddin station- in fact, all the murals at Connaught Place have also been done up under the same programme, which is about a year old.
Now that the dilapidated walls of Nizamuddin station have been reworked, you no longer have to look at paan and piss marks at the station. For a first time visitor, the graffiti will surely send out a strong and cheerful message. In fact, the walls even have aesthetic selfie spots which will certainly look good on your ‘gram.
Apart from just painting beautiful murals across the station walls, the main goal of the initiative was to host the cleanliness drive which turned out to be a huge success. The organizers stated that almost 40 volunteers were present at the station to help clean it and match it along with the spick and span walls.
As part of the “Me for My City” initiative, there are other plans to make different areas more pleasing to look at and not only that, to do the same in several other cities as well. We’re all for such developments in the city and can’t wait for more areas to be graffitied. All of these lend a whole new character to the city and makes it seem more lively than ever.
