Over the past few weeks, there has been a lot of talk regarding the Noida Aqua Line Metro and it's expansion. Earlier, the plan was underway, but now, after a long wait, the corridor has got the nessecary clearances. This surely makes way for a much better intra city metro system.
The new and upcoming expansion is paving the way for the future of the metro in India. The expanded route will not only connect the new areas to central Delhi, but will also provide a slew of commute options to other places of interest.
A few days back, the authorities finally declared the go ahead for the expansion of Noida Metro's Aqua Line. The route has now been confirmed and it seems that work is bound to begin in full swing very soon. The expansion of the metro line comes as something of a surprise, because the Aqua Line Metro isn't even a year old.
The expanded metro route will come in the form of two phases. The first phase consists of a 9-kilometer long stretch. The Phase I will connect areas from Noida Sector 122, 123 all the way to Sectors 4, 2 and Ecotech, which are some of the upcoming areas. Apart from that, the new metro route will also be completed with the help of DMRC, even though the metro itself will come under the wing of NMRC.
As for the second phase of the extended route, you can expect a 5 kilometer long route. Along this route, there will be a total of four stations, namely- Greater Noida Sector 3, Greater Noida Sector 10, Greater Noida Sector 12 and Knowledge Park V.
Since the existing Aqua Line Metro route is doing quite well, the projections for the future routes are quite ambitious too. Right now, the NMRC is expecting the expansion to bring about an influx of 1 lakh new passengers.
When it comes to public transport all across the NCR, residents of Delhi have quite good services. The buses and metros are just perfect for getting you from one place to another. The new Aqua Line metro however, aims to make travelling in Delhi NCR even more convenient, which is why we're looking forward to it.
