The solar powered metro line in the NCR region just got a launch date. The government aims to make the Aqua Line metro available for use by commuters from Christmas this year i.e. December 25. The Aqua Line will connect the less accessible areas of Noida and Greater Noida to the mainland of Delhi and Gurgaon.

The Aqua Line, which was recently under construction, has now been approved for use after the examinations and test rides by Metro Rail Safety Commissioner. The move comes after the government decided to connect the not well connected parts of NCR in Noida and Greater Noida to Delhi Gurgaon. Additionally, this is one of the first metro lines to become active in the Greater Noida region.

Aqua Line route

Commuters will have to change metros to reach some of the most important destinations on other lines since the Aqua Line will not directly be linked to any of the major ones. However, areas in Noida such as sector 137, 142, 50, and in Greater Noida, Pari Chowk, Alpha 1, Delta 1 among will be connected via the new line.

The move to inaugurate the Aqua Line metro on December 25 came after the intensive test runs, inspections and examination of every aspect. The work in the metro stations and the tracks has been completed and the only thing remaining is to fix the adjoining roads and to construct parking facilities at the metro stations. The authorities have stated that they aim to complete construction as soon as they can and they are looking forward to see how the metros will fare with the public.
