Knocksense: A local content and recommendations platform

Every Delhiite knows the pain of standing in line for a metro token. If you’re at a busy metro station, you’re more or less doomed. Luckily for those travelling on the Aqua line, NMRC aims to tackle the long, serpentine queues via their new mobile app. With this app, you can book your QR based tickets on the go through your mobile phone. It’s time to bid adieu to these seemingly never ending queues!

Why the app?

Aimed at cutting travel times and needless queues, the app is a boon for Delhiites. Not only can you book your QR code based NMRC tickets for the Aqua Line, but also make use of the app to find the nearest metro, know the train schedules and number of interchange stations. The app is called NMRC tickets and Android users can download it from the Google Play Store. As of now, there is no such app for iOS but it should be out soon enough.

How does it help?

Since the paper QR code tickets were unwieldy, the new move helps save time, resources and the environment. The app makes it more convenient to travel in the Aqua Line. Sure, a metro smart card seems like a nice idea, but since you have to get a new one for NMRC lines, booking tickets via the app is a more feasible option.

In order to use the app, one will have to first register themselves. For this, and email address, a phone number and date of birth will have to be provided. Users can also enter their gender or Aadhar card number, though it is not mandatory to do so. The condition for the app is that users must use their tickets within 30 minutes of purchasing it or it becomes invalid.

The app is currently available for download on Google Play Store. Soon, it should be out for iOS as well. Until then, skip the lines and get to your destination faster!
