Who can disagree with the fact that monsoons dampen the ever-lively Bombay spirit? No matter where you go, the endless potholes, the pooling water and the humidity finds you. The humidity is something we can never escape and that is the only drawback of living near the sea. But, Mumbai also has endless ways of lifting our spirits, from the mouth-watering smell of Pav Bhaji to the never-ending charm of taking a long walk on the beach, Mumbai gives us reasons to fall in love with her all over again.
The craft ice-cream, artisanal gelatos, and sorbets come under the same umbrella. We have always depended on 'Coppetto's artisanal gelatos to help us find respite from the humidity, brighten our mood and lift our spirits all the way up. Their gelatos and sorbets are a real work of art and we cannot imagine a life without the tasty treats.
Finally, after an year and a half of its opening, the artisan gelato place is opening another outlet in South Mumbai! We cannot wait or the new store and all the new products that it might have, the anticipation is killing us, to be honest.
The gelatos and sorbets are all made with 100% organic ingredients such as milk, coconut, Madagascar vanilla beans, Sicilian pistachios, dark chocolate, cocoa beans, coffee beans, raspberries, hazelnuts, strawberries, macadamia nuts, blueberries, Italian lemon, mango, lime basil, guava, honey, salted caramel and other tropical fruits. We just cannot get over the rich taste and the robust flavours we experience with the gelatos and the sorbets here, so the fact that they're opening a new outlet has us pumped.
The swirls of gelato and sorbets behind the counter have the capacity to make even the most frustrated of minds jump up with excitement and a cone topped with three scoops and a waffle chip is enough to put us in bliss. The soft feel of the gelato on the tongue and the way it slowly disappears is undeniably our favourite thing. Whenever and wherever this new outlet opens, we cannot wait to try the dark chocolate gelato the summery raspberries sorbet-lemon sorbet, the velvety stracciatella and rich Sicilian pistachio. And if you feel the chill of the rain setting in, you can also order a hot cup of freshly brewed coffee which warm you to the bones.
You'll be the first to know if we find out where and when the outlet is opening, until then, if you live in or near South Mumbai keep a vigilant watch around your neighbourhood and keep eating the fresh sorbets.
