IIT Bombay Professor builds 'Tapestry' to aid pandemic management in India

In 2009, when swine flu was gripping parts of the world, Manoj Gopalkrishnan ideated pool testing of samples that would increase the speed and widen the scale of virus testing. However, 11 years later, his idea has found form as this IIT Bombay professor has successfully developed an economical and efficient COVID testing tool- Tapestry. This conception shall greatly aid pandemic management in India in a manner that utilises indigenous technology and ideas.

IIT Bombay's AI-based real-time monitoring interface to track activities across Mumbai​

Providing an enhanced alternative to catch traffic defaulters and COVID protocol violators, IIT Bombay has developed an inventive real-time monitoring platform called Surakshavyuh. Supplementing this, artificial intelligence-based Jigyasa interface will help in quick and efficient face and text search. Reportedly, the director of IIT-B informed that the project got materialised with the associative efforts of the institute's National Central of Excellence in Technology and their industrial partner SrivisifAI Technologies.
