All public & private offices in Lucknow allowed to function with only 50% staff

An RT-PCR negative test is now mandatory for all travellers arriving in Lucknow

The newly appointed Chief Secretary of the state, Durga Shankar Prasad, has issued fresh directives in wake of the soaring rise of COVID cases in Lucknow. As per reports, the orders permit only 50% of staff to work from offices, across all government set-ups and private organisations in the city. This norm aims to break the chain of coronavirus spread by limiting physical contact. Check all guidelines here:

As per the latest COVID norms and restrictions issued in Lucknow, all offices have been directed to operate at staggered 50% occupancy. A 7-day home quarantine has also been marked mandatory for all private office employees, on being tested positive. Tracking, tracing and testing have been increased in Lucknow to detect and monitor the infection and nip it in the nascent stage only.

Besides, all arrivals in Lucknow are permitted only on account of a negative RT-PCR negative test report. All travellers, be it domestic or international, have to produce a COVID report upon reaching the city. Earlier, the order was limited only to foreign tourists and returnees from 'at-risk' countries. However, the order has now been revised as over 200 cases traced in Lucknow on Monday reported travel history.

A total of 1345 fresh COVID cases were traced in Lucknow on Tuesday, the highest-ever daily spike reported during the third Omicron wave. Of these, the biggest share of 234 was found positive in Alignaj, followed by 214 infections Chinhat.

Alambagh, Indira Nagar and Silver Jubilee also pooled in over 100 cases, with 125, 123 and 120 infections respectively. Other major hotspots included NK Road with 80 cases, Red Cross with 74 cases, Aishbagh with 32 and Tudiyaganj with 30.

Since a significant share of cases are asymptomatic and do not require hospitalisations, the district teams have been activated to supply medical and home isolation kits to boost recovery. Tracking, testing, tracing and vaccination has also been ramped up in wake of the same. Notably, the state capital too has launched a multi-pronged strategy to curb the rate of infection in the city and return to normalcy.
