BMC begins door-to-door vaccination trial for bed-ridden people in Mumbai

The Brihannumbai Municipal Corporation on Friday launched the trial for door-step vaccination to strengthen its immunity drive for the bed-ridden people in Mumbai. As per reports, the first phase of the door-to-door scheme will be tested in the western suburb of Andheri (East), Marol, Chakala and other areas of the K-east ward. The information about these bed-ridden citizens will be aggregated at the covidvacc2bedridden@gmail.com, the civic body stated. So far details of around 4,466 such people have been received.

Mumbai civic body ready to execute door-to-door vaccination, awaits approval from centre

Answering the concerns of the Bombay High Court, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has affirmed that it is prepared to implement door-to-door vaccination if the central government approves of it. The civic body stated that extensive immunisation schedules will be executed after the centre frames an appropriate policy and issues relevant directives. Previously, the High Court asked BMC if it was ready to conduct door-to-door inoculation drives for the aged and specially-abled citizens.
