Mumbai-Nagpur highway set to become the fastest highway in India

The Mumbai Nagpur Super Communication Expressway project is being developed as the fastest highway in the country, as per a statement by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC). The 701-km-long east to west corridor is expected to reduce travel time by at least 8 hours between the source and destination. Besides, the project design will also eliminate disturbance from animal activity on the main road, making it a fast-lane expressway.

Maha's longest & widest tunnel finally shapes on the Greenfield Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway

In a landmark achievement of the upcoming Greenfield Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway, the Maharashtra State Road Development Cooperation (MSRDC) fast-tracked the completion of the road tunnel here, three months ahead of the schedule. Touted to be the state's longest and widest such stretch, the tunnel runs along a 7.8 km long route along Igatupuri in Nashik to Vashala in Thane, amidst a thickly forested hilly region, informed officials. The tunnel is about 35 meters broad, with two tubes - 17.50 meters in each tube.
