The pandemic has discouraged the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation from permitting schools in the city to resume physical offline classes as directed by the state government. As per reports, schools in Mumbai and Thane district will remain closed even though the Maharashtra state education department has decided to resume schools for class V to VIII from January 27 onwards.

The civic authority has stated that in spite of the city's grip over the present situation, the rate of growth in other parts of the world and the risks involved in reopening educational centres have factored in to disallow resumption, until further orders. No definitive orders have been granted for city schools under consulates and embassies, which were set to resume on January 18 as well.

Other parts of the state, which are resuming schools with state's permission, have to further comply with the state established SOP and preventive protocols established for staff, students and seating arrangements, to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display:block" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1928181993792414" data-ad-slot="7448307427" data-ad-format="auto" data-full-width-responsive="true"></ins>
