With the dampened effects of the second COVID wave in Kanpur, public life is gradually moving towards past normalcy. As per the latest developments, the Kanpur Municipal Corporation has announced the reopening of parks under its administration from today onwards. Reportedly, it is almost after 70 days that the parks are being revived for the visitors. It is noteworthy that Kanpur was one of the first cities in UP to move ahead with unlocking interventions after the case tallies dropped below 600.
Which parks are now open?
As per reports, there are more than 700 parks managed by the municipal corporation in Kanpur and all of those are now open for the public. Foolbagh, Tikonia Park, LIC Park, Musical Fountain Park, Geeta Park, Gandhi Park, Sanjay Van, Chetna park, Sarla Vatika, Ramlila Park, Adarsh Park, Ram Manohar Lohia Park, Durga Puja Park, Lal Bahadur Shastri park, JP Park, Model Town park amongst other parks will open their gates for the public.
Parks that only allow entry to pass-owners-
Amongst the notable parks in the city, Kargil Park and Hanspuram Water Park have a facility for ticketing visitors. As of now, the facility of tickets will not be operational and only pass-owners will be able to get admission to the parks. This decision has been taken to prevent overcrowding within the premises of the parks.
COVID precaution necessary amid relaxations
While the city is slowly inching closer to stability, the citizens need to follow strict adherence to the COVID protocol and guidelines. Every time one steps out of the house, it is important that we do forget our masks, gloves and sanitisers. Further, social distancing guidelines must be strictly followed.
