and The post is long and full of spoilers!
The most awaited episode of all the seasons in Game of Thrones has finally aired and our heart cannot take it anymore! Let me say this, the first two episodes, the past battles and everything in between will look like a fairytale once you're knee deep in the episode 3. It is that good!
Before you go further let me warn you: The post is long and full of spoilers!
Okay here we go.
The Game of Thrones season 8 episode 3 begins with an opening scene of the battle, the armies are prepared and the fight will set off any minute now! and what do we see?
Melisandre on horseback strutting towards the battle, she lights the dothraki swords on fire and we're sure the living have an edge!
The fight begins, Dragons soaring, swords drawn and we are biting our nail, fingers crossed that our favourite character isn't killed, in what is expected to be the biggest battle in cinematic history.
Let' cut the long story short, there have been so many theories, so many expectations and so many assumptions revolving around the Night King and how he's going to die.
None of the theories that we had read and pinned our hopes on, came true, nothing! That's what we get for trying to read into David Benioff and W.B. Weiss' brain. They are geniuses, the show is genius, and we the children of summer. Moving along.
Further in the episode we see that the sheer number of the wights was so overwhelming that our heroes were tired, drawn out, lost and so on the verge of being defeated, even with the help of two full grown dragon.
Who we are hoping, stay alive for the wars that have yet to come!
The mighty heroes who have o bravely fought all that is to fight in the world are shown as mere humans, scared of death, scared of loss, scared of pain. Human-Heroes that we deserve.
Ser Jorah Mormont- Dead
Ser Jorah's death has been anticipated for a very long time. His journey has come full circle. Going to find a cure, finding the cure and finally meeting the last Mormont-Lyanna the real bear.
Lady Lyanna Mormont- Dead and how!
Lady Lyanna Mormont's character was strong and sufficient from Day1. She has been an inspiration for little girls all around the world and the newest episode proves why. The way Lady Mormont (I refuse to disrespect the character by taking her first name after the arch she was given) completed her journey, the small girl killing a giant- completing an enormous task. I have nothing but respect for her.
Theon- So dead
How long has the character travelled, it is beyond belief. But Theon's death no matter how heroic, stoic and fulfilling was quite heartbreaking. Died in battle fighting for his home-Winterfell and protecting Bran, what a take.
The two Dragons- Both are alive
Rhaegal successfully injured his undead brother and was able to save Jon and Danny's life. Though Drogon was heavily injured with all the wights stabbing him, yet it is highly unlikely that he will fall. Plus the episode 4 preview shows both and red and a green dragon (fingers crossed).
Ghost- Oh we hope not
Ghost is shown leaving with the Dothraki and while we see the leftover of the horde returning to the battlefront, Ghost is nowhere to be seen. We just hope he survives what Summer couldn't.
Beric Dondarrion- Dead
The man was brought back to life for a reason (as Melisandre so cleverly mentions) and his character arc was complete, so his death was imminent.
The Dothraki- Almost all dead
The horde was seen charging towards the battlefield and only a handful return which were seen fighting the battle inside the castle, we are expecting the women and few of the men to survive.
The Unsullied- Several dead (We hope Grey Worm survives, but is highly unlikely)
Grey Worm's character is long expected to fade into oblivion, with him finding love and Missandei from the island of Nath, he too might not survive the war.
Melisandre (The red woman)- Dead
We see her giving up on life, her destiny fulfilled and her character redeemed.
Night King and all the wights- OHMYGOD THEY'RE DEAD
Now that the army of the dead has been defeated, what will happen?
With the threat in the North removed, we are expecting the "real" battle to be brought to the North as well. We do see Euron's ships and it is expected that a significant portion of the army is going to be shipped off to the North and they will wreak havoc to the already half destroyed army. While the real battle, the battle for the throne will be set in Kings Landing.
Yet, the question remains, Who will sit on the Iron Throne?
