Actor Ranveer Singh who has recently arrived at Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh and headed straight to the stadium to prepare for his next, ‘83’. The actor is in the process of “becoming the hurricane” under the training of iconic cricketer Kapil Dev.
Ranveer Singh shared various pictures and videos from the training session on social media today. He also shared a video where he was seen learning Kapil Dev’s signature- ‘Natraj Shot’ with the man himself.
Ranveer posted a photograph from the Dharamshala Stadium with the caption, "Becoming the Hurricane. Kapil Dev. Legend. Journey begins.'83'.", on his Twitter and Instagram account. The two can be seen sporting Indian cricket team’s blue jersey and lost in conversation. The cricketer seems to be giving tips and insights to the ‘Gully-boy’ actor.
Directed by Kabir Khan, ‘83’ is based on India’s historical 1983 World Cup win at Lords. Ranveer Singh will be seen portraying the captain- Kapil Dev. The ‘83’ team is currently in Dharamshala for the last training before the film’s shoot kicks-off on May 15 with a 100-day schedule in London and Scotland.
"'83" follows the journey of how, under newly-appointed captain Kapil Dev, the Indian cricket team defeated West Indies in the World Cup finals of 1983. It tracks the coming-of-age, of not just a cricketing team, but of a young nation in the eyes of the world.
Apart from Ranveer, the cast also includes Pankaj Tripathi, Saqib Saleem and Chirag Patil. Actor Jatin Sarna, who made a powerful impact in a small role in the web series "Sacred Games", will be seen portraying cricketer Yashpal Sharma in the film.
The film is expected to hit the screens on April 10, 2020.
