Remake of the famous Vijay Deverakonda starrer Telugu romance-drama ‘Arjun Reddy’, Kabir Singh has been doing quite well at the box Office. Even after being tied in controversy after controversy, the angry man charade by Shahid seems to be much liked. A week at the box office and the movie has already managed to cross the 100 crore mark and has made an overall collection of ₹ 134 crores.

The movie has crossed all expectations to become the second biggest opener with its week 1 box office collection crossing that of Gully Boy and Kesari.

The movie’s representation of an extremely masculine and somewhat “toxic” character, Kabir Singh who is busy burning his life away in cigarette smoke, alcohol and drugs, did not fare well with several movie goers. After watching the movie, several people complained that while on one end the Hindi cinema is finally giving women their due, a movie like Kabir Singh is offsetting the balance.
