Actor Sophie Turner, better known as Sansa Stark of the incredibly popular TV series Game of Thrones has called the petition to remake the finale season as “disrespectful” to the show and the crew.
The actress was referring to the Change.org’s petition to redo the last season which has already reached more than 1.3 million supporters.
Game of Thrones, which is an adaptation of George R.R Martin’s fantasy book series of the same name, recently concluded its 73 episodes broadcast over eight seasons, ten years and wrapped up its last episode on Sunday.
Sophie says that the audience always have an idea of how they want a specific show to end and when it doesn’t go to their liking, they start to speak up and rebel. According to her it is “disrespectful” to the whole team and especially the filmmakers who have worked tirelessly over 10 years and for 11 months shooting the last season.
Viewers were disappointed with the death of the character of Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen in the show) saying that it deserved a better ending. Sophie says “The thing about ‘Game of Thrones’ that’s always been amazing is the fact that there’s always been crazy twists and turns”.
With an unexpected twist the show ended with Sophie’s character as ‘Queen in the North’ and her brother Brandon Stark crowned as the King of the Six Kingdoms. She speaks of her role and says “she loved it”. For the whole of the series her character has been struggling and facing a lot of difficulties and humiliation. She says “She would be a fair and loving ruler, and it’s what she’s been striving for this whole series : to go back home, to protect her home. And finally she has that.”
Even though some fans were disappointed with the end to the show, there are some who say the show and its ending have been incredible and extraordinary.
