Vidya Balan is gearing up for a web series on Indira Gandhi

After giving the blockbuster Tumhaari Sulu in 2017, Actress Vidya Balan will be returning to the screens, but this time on a different platform. The actress said that she is planning to make her debut on a web series soon. She is trying to do a web series based on the life of India's first and only woman Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

The news came when Vidya was interacting with the media, at the announcement of nominations for the first edition of the Critics Choice Film Awards, initiated by the Film Critics Guild and Motion Content Group on Tuesday.

"I am trying to do a web series which will be based on the life of Indira Gandhi ji. As of now, we are trying to do it, but let's see how it takes shape," Vidya said.

The web series will reportedly be produced by her husband Siddharth Roy Kapur.

"I feel doing a web series involves a lot of work. While doing a web series, a lot of people associate themselves with it as compared to making a film. So, it takes a lot of time. But when I will do it, I will make sure that it turns out really well," she added.

Vidya is one of the most renowned actress’ in Bollywood who have been defining the stories and the concept of women-driven films in India. Apart from films, she has also been associated with a lot of public service advertisements.

Vidya is a national award winning actress. She took home the National Film Award for Best Actress in 2012 for her role as Silk Smitha in The Dirty Picture. Her last film, Suresh Triveni’s- Tumhaari Sulu was a total delight.

After Saif Ali Khan made his debut in web series with Sacred Games, it was reported recently that Akshay Kumar is also planning to do a web series. And now, it is Vidya’s turn to shine on the booming entertainment platform. We are really excited to see her debut performance on the digital screen space soon!
