OnePlus 6T may launch with triple cameras & in-display fingerprint sensor

The OnePlus 6T, one of the most anticipated smartphones of the year is expected to be launched next month, putting an end to all the speculation surrounding it. The 6T has leaked several times over the past few weeks and now, a new leak has revealed that the phone will feature a triple camera setup at the back.

Earlier, a leaked retail box of the 6T had revealed that it will feature an in-display fingerprint sensor and a water-drop notch. The in-display fingerprint sensor was first used by OnePlus's sister company, Vivo in its X21 smartphone. The water-drop notch has been adopted from the Oppo F9 and F9 Pro that were launched recently. Overall, the OnePlus 6T looks similar to the Oppo R17 Pro that was launched in China and features a triple camera setup.

The water-drop notch

A new render has been leaked on Weibo, that has revealed that the OnePlus 6T will feature a triple camera setup similar to what we saw on the Huawei P20 Pro, making it the second smartphone to sport a triple camera setup. On the front, it features a water-drop notch that houses the selfie camera. A render was also posted by PhoneArena that shows a similar triple camera setup.

The three cameras have been aligned vertically and there is an LED flash and OnePlus branding below the camera setup. The current water-drop notch is much smaller than the existing notch on the OnePlus 6 and looks much more elegant. There is still noticeable chin below the display which may be reduced in its successor.

We already know that the OnePlus 6 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC and will be available in 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB internal storage options. We will know more about the triple camera setup of the OnePlus 6T when it is announced next month.
