Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro leak reveals four cameras, notch display

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is currently one of the best selling budget smartphones in India and a new leak has revealed that the company may soon launch its successor, the Redmi Note 6 Pro. The device is expected to be launched later this year or early next year. The Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 5 Pro were launched in February this year but its successor may be unveiled a little earlier.

As per this leak, the Redmi Note 6 Pro will feature a 6.26-inch full HD+ full-screen display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. Like most Xiaomi devices launched recently, the upcoming device will also sport a notch at the top. The notch will house the dual selfie cameras, earpiece and other sensors.

The leaked image does not reveal the design of the device as we can only see a part of the display with a sticker showing the key features of the device. While the rear camera setup will continue to feature a 12MP + 5MP setup, the front camera has been upgraded from a single lens to a dual camera setup featuring a 20MP + 2MP setup. The rear camera will have 1.4um large pixels and dual-pixel autofocus technology that the company used in the Mi A2.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched with a 20MP selfie camera with a software-based Bokeh mode but the Redmi Note 6 Pro may offer hardware-based Bokeh effect to the images, allowing users to capture improved portraits. The rear camera will continue to offer the same imaging experience as the Redmi Note 5 Pro.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro will be powered by the same 4,000mAh battery and may be equipped with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0. While some leaks have hinted that it will feature the same Snapdragon 636 SoC as its predecessor, some leaks have revealed that it will be powered by the Snapdragon 660 SoC that the company used in the recently launched Mi A2. In terms of storage, Xiaomi is expected to offer the same options as the Redmi Note 5 Pro, starting at 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.

At the moment, it is not known when the device will be launched in India but we expect the launch will happen by the end of the year. If Xiaomi adopts the same prices as the Redmi Note 5 Pro, it will attract a lot of buyers and will be able to attract both, camera lovers and power users.
