It is no secret that Apple is struggling to sell the latest iPhone lineup but the company wants to be as discreet as possible. After the Cupertino giant slashed the prices of iPhone XR in the US by $100 back in January, it was heavily speculated whether the reduction in prices would trickle down to other countries as well. We can now report that Apple is indeed offering a flat Rs 6,000 off on the iPhone XR which is originally priced starting at Rs 76,900.
While the online retailers like Flipkart and Amazon India are still to update the prices on their respective shopping portals, offline retailers such as Unicorn APR and Reliance Digital are offering the iPhone XR at Rs 70,990 for the 64GB variant and Rs 75,900 for the 128GB variant and Rs 85,900 for the 256GB variant.
The much affordable iPhone out of the three launched today, the iPhone XR is crafted out of aerospace-grade aluminum and is resistant to dust and water (maximum depth of 1 meter up to 30 minutes). It features a 6.1-inch Liquid Retina HD LCD panel which has a resolution of 1792 x 828 pixels and supports True Tone display feature. The display is covered with an oleophobic coating which is resistant to fingerprints.
Apple's iPhone XR is also powered by the company's new A12 Bionic chipset which is supported by the next-generation neural engine. All the three iPhone's are powered by the same new A12 Bionic processor.
On the optics front, the iPhone XR sports a single 12-megapixel rear camera which has a wide f/1.8 aperture and supports up to 5x digital zoom. Working in tandem with the Bionic chipset, the XR can create stunning portrait pictures with advanced control over depth-of-field. The primary camera module has a sapphire crystal lens cover which acts as a shield against scratches, drops among other things.
On the front, there's a 7-megapixel camera which works with the TrueDepth system for face recognition. The front camera carries an aperture of f/2.2 and also does bokeh selfies along with Animoji and Memoji.
The iPhone XR will last up to 1.5 hours more than the iPhone 8 Plus and supports fast charging by up to 50% in 30 minutes. The XR also supports wireless charging and works with Qi chargers.
As mentioned above, Apple has dropped the prices of the iPhone XR across India and interested buyers can head to official Apple retailers like Unicorn APR stores. Additionally, the folks over at Unicorn Apple Premium Reseller Stores in Lucknow are offering the iPhone XR at the reduced prices and are bundling the ITEK power bank as well as a Qi certified and Apple approved wireless charger.
