The Honor View 20, Huawei’s latest flagship phone that was unveiled at CES this month, has got a launch date for India and it comes with a 48-megapixel rear camera. Unlike any other smartphone we have seen, this phone sports a hole punch display and ditches the various kinds of notches we’ve seen off late.

The Honor View 20 has been globally launched and will release in India on January 29, 2019. The main draw of the phone is not the 48-megapixel rear camera sensor, by no means a small feat, but the new and unique punch hole display that it brings. As of now, there are mixed opinions about the hole in the display, but like the notch, you’ll have to get used to it.

The display is an all screen 6.4-inch FHD+ display with a 91.8 screen to body ratio. The phone sports a 1080x2310 resolution which should provide a great viewing experience. The phone also makes room for a 3.5mm headset jack, a dying breed and uses a USB type C charging port. At the back, the phone has a unique glass design that gives it a gradient of the colours and a chevron pattern back.

The processor used by the phone is a Kirin 980 chipset, which is a flagship Huawei processor and is comparable to the Snapdragon 845. The chipset also has AI capabilities and uses machine learning to make the phone get used to your using habits and optimizing it for the best user interface. The phonehas two variants the 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage. Paired with the Kirin 980, the phone should perform well in any situation you throw at it.

In the camera department comes the second most lucrative feature of the phone. The phone has a dual camera set up with the primary lens being a 48-megapixel Sony sensor. The secondary camera is a 3D ToF camera (time of flight) that allows for more clear images and better depth perception. Up at the front, in the cutout, there is a 25-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture to help in low light situations.

The phone sports a massive 4,000mAH battery and runs on Android 9.0 Pie with an EMUI 2.0 skin on top. Honor has gone on to say that this time around, the software is bloatware free and offers a more cleaner user interface. The Honor View 20 will launch in India on January 29. The price for the 6GB + 128GB model should be around ₹46,000 and the 8GB + 256GB variant will be priced at about ₹52,500.
