The Honor View 20, a phone that has been making waves since it was revealed at CES 2019 because of its take on the bezel less design, has just been launched in India. For a price of ₹37,999 it’s a powerful competitor in the price range. With the View 20, Honor aims to tackle phones like the OnePlus 6T, Google Pixel 2, Vivo and OPPO flagships.

The Honor View 20, one of the first smartphones with a punch hole display to accommodate the selfie camera and get rid of the notch has a some neat tricks up its sleeve. If you though display isn’t even a big deal, then get this. The phone has a 48-megapixel rear camera that uses a Sony sensor, making it the first phone to do so.

The phone has a 6.4-inch display that comes at an aspect ratio of 19.25:9. The display is an LCD display as it makes it easier to make a cutout in LCDs rather than LED or OLED displays and has a resolution of 2310x1080 pixels. According to Honor, the phone boasts a 91.8% screen to body ratio, which is pretty high.

The smartphone uses the 7nm HiSilicon Kirin 980 octa-core chipset which is comparable to the Snapdragon 845 and the upcoming Snapdragon 855 chipsets. Additionally, the phone will come in two variants, 6GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage and the another with 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone will also be available in 3 colours- Phantom Blue, Midnight Black, and Sapphire Blue.

In the camera department, the phone uses a 48-megapixel primary sensor at the back, something that we have not seen before and pairs it with a secondary 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor to capture depth and provide several 3D and beautification features. Up front, the front facing camera situated in the cutout, is a 25-megapixel sensor camera that can handle AI capabilities. The phone also comes with a massive 4000mAH battery that supports quick charge technology. The phone also runs an Android 9.0 based Magic UI skin out of the box, a neat addition to the phone.

The Honor View 20 starts at a price of ₹37,999 for the base variant- 6GB RAM and 128GB internal storage and the 6GB RAM and 256GB variant is priced at ₹45,999. The base variant will be available on Amazon.in starting tomorrow, while the top end variant will be on sale soon.
