Huawei Nova 4 is the world’s first smartphone with a whopping 48MP camera. Huawei is continuing to expand its portfolio of camera-centric smartphones with the Nova 4, offering a 48MP rear camera and featuring a 25MP in-display camera as well.
Not content with the high-resolution 48MP primary camera, Huawei has added two additional cameras to assist the primary camera. Apart from this, Huawei also has a standard model with a more traditional 20MP primary camera, with other specs remaining the same.
Huawei Nova 4 specifications
The Huawei Nova 4 features a 6.4-inch Full HD+ resolution display with a circular cutout for the selfie camera. Huawei was rumoured to launch the first phone with an in-display camera, but was beaten to it by Samsung Galaxy A8s.
Apart from the in-display camera, the other important highlight of the Huawei Nova 4 is its rear camera setup. The Nova 4 comes in two variants - High and Standard. The High variant has the 48MP primary camera with f/1.8 aperture, CAF, PDAF, EIS, with a 16MP wide-angle camera and a 2MP depth-sensing camera. The Standard variant has a 20MP f/1.8 primary camera, with other things remaining the same.
On the front, the Nova 4 has a 25MP camera housed in a circular cutout in the display. The front camera is located on the top left of the phone, so it might not be as distracting as standard centered notches.
Powering the Huawei Nova 4 is the company’s HiSilicon Kirin 970 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone runs on Android 9.0 Pie with EMUI 9.0.1 on top.
Other features of the Nova 4 include a fingerprint sensor, dual 4G VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and a USB Type-C port. It is fueled by a 3,750mAh battery and includes support for fast charging.
