JioBrowser with 8 Indian languages support launched for Android

Reliance Industries Ltd, the parent company of telecom operator Reliance Jio has silently launched a new browser for Android users, dubbed as the JioBrowser. The company already has several apps for Android and iOS and we expect the Jio Browser to be soon available for iOS users too.

The company already has a suite of apps that include My Jio, JioSaavn, JioTV, JioCinemas and more. It must be noted that the JioBrowser can be used by all users and is not limited to users on Reliance Jio’s network.

The company has touted the JioBrowser as a fast and lite solution for web browsing by the company. To attract users across the country, the browser supports eight Indian languages including Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, and Telugu. In addition to this, it works on English by default.

If you change your language from the default language English to any other regional language, the news and suggested video content will also change accordingly, providing you suggestions based on your interests. You can also browser websites in your preferred language using the JioBrowser.

The JioBrowser displays news content and the latest updates on the home screen from categories such as entertainment, politics and sports. In addition to this, the browser also has a videos tab that allows you to watch available videos.

The JioBrowser features an incognito mode, allowing you to browse privately and allows you to share news and video content with friends on social media. It has a download manager that allows you to access and manage your downloads in one place.

It also has a favorites tab that includes websites such as Jio.com, Ajio, BookMyShow, Amazon India, Flipkart and more. At the moment, it is not possible for a user to sort or add any website to the favorites tab, however, you can bookmark any website you like.

The JioBrowser is around 4.8MB in size and is currently available for devices running on Android 5.0 Lollipop and above. It is expected to be available for iOS users in the coming days.
