JioSaavn app now live, offers 90 days of complimentary premium access to Jio users

Reliance Jio had announced that it will be acquiring Saavn back in March this year. Now, it seems like the telco has completed the acquisition and as a result, the new JioSaavn app is here. Saavn, a popular music streaming service, was one of the first India-based music streaming services, dating back to 2006.

The new JioSaavn service offers a catalogue of over 45 million songs, with personalized recommendations in over 15 languages to suit a large number of peoples’ tastes. It is worth noting that JioSaavn has landed only for iOS at the moment, with app version 6.1, while the Android version is still at version 6.0.6. As such, Saavn for Android users will have to wait for the new update with the Jio branding.

Reliance Jio is continuing to offer freebies to its subscribers. According to the app listing on Apple App Store, Reliance Jio users can enjoy 90 days of JioSaavn Pro for free. This is applicable to both postpaid as well as prepaid users. Reliance Jio will offer the same benefits to its Android users as well. After the 90 days benefit, users can either get the pro subscription, or continue to use the free membership with ads.

Download JioSaavn 6.1 for Android and iOS

The JioSaavn 6.1 app for iOS is already live and you can download it from Apple App Store.

Android users will have to wait for a little longer to receive the JioSaavn 6.1 update, and the service has not revealed when the update will be made available. You can download the app from Google Play store.

Will I still get Jio caller tunes for free?

The answer is yes, you will still get Jio caller tunes for free. What is even better is that you do not need the pro subscription of JioSaavn to enjoy this service. While this is how things stand as of now, it remains to be seen if Jio changes its policies in this regard in the future. Any change, however, is unlikely.
