Chinese electronics company Lenovo has officially launched its flagship laptop, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme in India. The laptops have been listed on the company’s website in India with a starting price of ₹1,97,471.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme was initially announced in Berlin during the IFA 2018 conference back in September. While the company had announced three variants at IFA - i5, i7 and i9, the i9 variant has not been launched in India yet.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme is similar to X1 Carbon in terms of design, featuring four layers of reinforced carbon fiber for the outer layer and an aluminum alloy for the bottom cover. Lenovo has claimed that the notebook has been tested for 12 military-grade requirements and has passed more than 200 quality checks.
The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Extreme runs on Windows 10 Pro. It is available in two display options - 15.6-inch UHD (3840 x 2160 pixels) HDR touchscreen with Dolby Vision support and a 15.6-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS antiglare non-touch display.
In terms of performance, the Lenovo ThinkPad Extreme X1 is powered by up to 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor. While the base variant features Intel UHD Graphics 630, the top end variant is backed NVIDIA GeForce 1050 4GB GDDR5 graphics. Additionally, the notebook features up to 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD.
In terms of security, the Lenovo ThinkPad Extreme X1 features a smartcard, fingerprint sensor, IR camera for Windows Hello, ThinkShutter camera cover for privacy, Kensington lock slot, and a TPM 2.0 module. Connectivity options on the device include dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0, two USB 3.1 ports, two USB Type-C ports, HDMI port, SD Card reader, headphone jack and a microphone combo socket.
The Lenovo ThinkPad Extreme X1 is priced at ₹1,97,471 for the i5 variant with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD, ₹2,04,479 for the i7 variant with 16GB RAM and a 512GB SSD and the i7 variant with 16GB RAM and a 1TB SSD is priced at ₹3,02,015. The notebooks are available from Lenovo India website.
